El Rojo derrotó en Córdoba a Talleres por 2 a 1; cotejo que se jugo en el Kempes y tuvo en Independiente como goleadores a Silvio Romero (de penal, a los 4′ de iniciado el juego) y a Benavidez, sobre los 49′ del complemento.
